Great Honour

Posted by Michael Druce, November 27th, 2009 | 0 Comments

Sandra and I have now been working together in various forms for about eight and a half years. In that time we have experienced many highs and a few lows. Luckily for us most have been highs. I think this has a lot to do with the vision we have had for the business since day one as well as the effort we along with the staff have put into it. We have always considered ourselves lucky to have staff that really cares about the business and have always tried to treat them as part of a family (the Beyond The Grape Family). So when we receive medals, awards or praise it is reflective of not just Sandra and I but the whole Beyond The Grape family. This year we were nominated for the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce,  Small Business of the Year. The nomination was not something we expected, just something that happened. One of our customers who is a member of the Tri-cities Chamber of Commerce felt we were deserving of this nomination. That in itself was extremely flattering for Sandra, the staff and I.

In Late October Sandra and I attended a nominees luncheon at the Boathouse Restaurant in Port Moody. The lunch was great, we got a certificate for the nomination, sat and chatted with other members of the Chamber of Commerce and enjoyed a nice meal. Then came the time to announce the finalists in each category and much to our surprise we were chosen as one of the finalists. Now Sandra and I have always tried to position our business at or near the top of business in the wine/brew on-premise industry but this was for all types of businesses with 34 or less employees in the Tri-cities. We now are going to be attending a  gala in January to see which of the finalists wins. This whole process is a tremendous honour for Sandra and I as well as the staff. We all feel very proud of this nomination and being chosen as a finalist which is great for all of us as this has been a very complicated year with everything that has gone on in each of our families and with the business. So thank-you David for the nomination it means a lot to each of us.
