Well fall has now arrived, I am sure everyone enjoyed our late summer weather. With the great weather we recieved this year, we are sure some of you have not thought about holiday wine yet, so as a reminder Wednesday October 21st, 2009 is the last day you can make a Selection International Series or Selection Original Series wine to have it ready in time for Christmas. Also Wednesday October 28th, 2009 is the last day you can make a Vintners Reserve Series or World Vineyard Collection wine. If you are needing it for Christmas we also recommend booking your appointment before the wine will be ready.

A reminder of our Limited Edition Release Wine Tasting with food pairings. This event will take place on Sunday November 8th, 2009. We will have two seatings one at 5pm (SOLD OUT) and one at 8pm (A few Tickets Left) and will be located at the Old Mill Boathouse in Port Moody. Tickets for the event are available for purchase at the store on a first come first serve basis and are $10 each. Each seating only has 100 spots and are expected to go quickly, so do not wait too long. Even if you are not interesting in this years Limited Edition Series this night promises to be a fun night for anyone who enjoys wine. We also encourage you let friends and family know about the event as new customers are welcome as well.

This is Winexpert's Twentieth anniversary of the Limited Edition Series and the wines are the best of the last twenty years. The series is as follows:

South African Shiraz (Originally offered in January 2006)

California Lake County Trio Blanca (Originally offered in January 2005)

February

Australian Petit Verdot (Originally offered in April 2004)

March

Pacific Quartet (Originally offered in March 2007)

April

Italian Brunello (Originally offered in April 2007)

With this being the twentieth anniversary Winexpert has created a special website for the Limited Edition Series. The price for the kits this year are $180 for on-premise and $124 to take the kit home. As usual we are taking pre-orders with a deposit of $25 per wine kit. To guarantee the kits of your choice pre-orders need to placed before December 11, 2009. If you purchase any combination of 5 Limited Edition kits from this years series you will receive a free Vinturi Wine Aerator ($60 value). We will also be offering oak barrel aging on the red wines for an additional $30 plus taxes on a first come, first serve basis. The barrel spots are limited and requests for them are high, so please let us know with your pre-order as soon as possible to ensure you are not left without a spot.

Compared to other wine tasting events we have held in the past, this one will be a little more interactive with a food pairing portion. The wine tasting and food pairing part of the night will be presented by local Sommelier/Wine Guy John Gerum of West Coast Wine Education. We are very excited to have someone of John's knowledge and reputation be able to work with us on this event.

To remove the new clear background labels just peel them off. For the solid background labels just soak them in hot tap water for about a minute and then lift a corner and slowly peel it off.
